This year, the Benčić art neighbourhood once again delivers an unparalleled Advent experience! Focusing on interactive content that merges creativity and knowledge, Benčić fosters the imagination, keeps the hands busy and fills up the eyes and heart by conjuring genuine winter magic.

As part of the Benčić Winter Story, two handicraft and designer product markets will take place at the Children’s House from 13 to 20 December, while secondary school co-ops will hold their trade show at the Rijeka City Library. Children adults can also participate in various workshops – from LEGO programming and winter 3D printing to making Christmas cookies.

The Rijeka City Library is preparing a morning programme for pensioners dedicated to holiday topics through “digital eyes”, such as creating Viber postcards, cooking with recipes from the Internet and learning the basics of smart online shopping.

More than 30 workshops for children will be held at the Children’s House: string art, foraged ketchup, wool felting, sensory workshops for young children, magical ice lamp and many others. The neighbourhood will also be teeming with professional storytellers, while the Rijeka City Puppet Theatre will stage the puppet show Happy House.

Art Kino will screen movies in the spirit of December, while the City Museum of Rijeka will host a series of creative workshops at the Sugar Refinery Palace that will get our creative juices flowing. The programme will be bookended with musical performances by the winners or RI Rock and Belfast Food, respectively.

There are a total of 50 workshops and meetings in store for you at the Art Neighbourhood of Magic – all of which are totally free!
