Summer on Gradina

Summer on Gradina is a popular cultural and entertainment event organised by the Rijeka Tourist Board, which makes the enchanting premises of Trsat Castle come alive with each new summer. Its programme offers a plethora of cultural, entertainment and art events that attract visitors of all ages and interests from Rijeka and beyond by promoting socialisation and togetherness. The event provides an opportunity to socialise and enjoy cultural content in a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy unique scenes, artistic interpretations and gastro delicacies at the majestic venue of Trsat Castle. Summer on Gradina is a popular meeting place for the residents of Rijeka during the summer and one of the reasons to visit the city.

The fusion of various art forms and styles, entertainment for all ages and performances by a host of renowned Croatian and international artists over two decades has attracted tens of thousands of visitors to Trsat Castle with more than 200 compelling programmes.

The most popular event for the Rijeka natives and their guests has become a well-known Rijeka brand that contributes significantly to the quality of the entire tourist offering in Rijeka in the summer.

This summer, Trsat Castle once again becomes the centre of top-quality musical and cultural events through the “Summer on Gradina 2026” festival during June, July, August, and September, visitors can expect a rich programme of concerts, performances, and entertainment for all generations at one of Rijeka’s most beautiful open-air stages.

The season opens with the big Rijeka Summer Fest on 12 June 2026, featuring performances by Darko Rundek & Ekipa, Natali Dizdar, and the bands Porto Morto and Grapevine Babies. Throughout July, audiences will be entertained by Tony Cetinski, Damir Kedžo, Josipa Lisac, Dalmatino, and Neno Belan, to name just a few. In August, the programme continues with a children’s outdoor disco, followed by performances by Vanna, Klapa Rišpet, Milde Sorte Party, Vesna Pisarović, and others.

The programme also includes special evenings such as the Električni orgazam concert, a theatre performance by Enis Bešlagić, as well as content for children, including theatre shows, an open-air disco, and a Circus Day. The combination of top atmosphere, music, and the unique setting of Trsat Castle will once again attract numerous visitors from Rijeka and the wider region.
