2. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. In this policy, similar technologies, such as browser local storage (localStorage), are also referred to as cookies. Some cookies are necessary for the website to work, while others help us understand how the website is used or enable third-party content to be displayed.
3. Your consent
We use strictly necessary cookies because the website cannot function properly without them. For all other cookies we ask for your prior consent, which you give or refuse through the cookie notice on your first visit. Simply browsing the website is not considered consent.
You can change your choice or withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link:
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
4. Cookies we use
4.1. Strictly necessary cookies
These do not require consent and cannot be switched off.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent_user_accepted | visitrijeka.hr | Records that you have made a cookie choice | 6 months |

4.2. Analytics cookies – Google Analytics 4
To measure website traffic we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) with consent mode enabled (Google Consent Mode).
If you give consent, Google Analytics sets the cookies listed below to distinguish visitors and sessions.
If you do not give consent or refuse it, no analytics cookies are set. Google nevertheless receives limited, cookieless data about the visit (e.g. the page visited and the referring page, browser and device type, language, screen resolution and time of visit). Your IP address is used only to determine your approximate location (country/region) and, according to Google, is not stored. This data is used for aggregated, anonymised statistics and is not linked to you as an individual. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in measuring basic website traffic; you can object to this processing using the contact details in section 1.

We display videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). In this mode YouTube does not set cookies until you start playing a video, but it may store technical data in your browser’s local storage when the page loads. Once you start a video, YouTube may set cookies such as those listed below. We have no control over the names or duration of these cookies, and they may change.
