Engaging in enjoyable winter sport activities on ice at Rijeka Advent is becoming more popular with each year.

This is the first opportunity for many to showcase their ice skating skills on the popular Sea Snowflake, the first ice skating rink in Rijeka, which was named after its unusual and unique location by the sea.

True fun on ice begins against the backdrop of Christmas tunes and the sound of sharpened ice skates while attempting your first pirouettes and gliding to the beat of the music.

From fearless children to slightly cautious parents, all visitors enjoy the truly idyllic holiday atmosphere on ice.

We will skate into the new year in high spirits, which will make the Sea Snowflake a popular meeting place during the winter break. Those who want to perfect their skating skills can sign up for skating lessons during the school holidays.

Don’t miss out on a great time at the Sea Snowflake!

Numerous residents of Rijeka are eagerly awaiting the opening of the Sea Snowflake ice skating rink, which is organised by the company Gloster in cooperation with the City of Rijeka at Karolina Riječka Pier.

The oldest ice skating rink in Rijeka is scheduled to open on Friday 26 November 2021 at 4 pm. To celebrate the beginning of the new ice skating season, all visitors will be able to skate for free until 10 pm!

In line with the COVID-19 prevention and protection measures, proper wearing of protective face masks is required at all times while in the ice skating area as is adherence to all other measures and recommendations, such as maintaining distance and disinfecting your hands when entering the ice skating rink. Equipment will be disinfected after each use. The maximum number of skaters allowed on the ice is 50.

As was the case in previous years, the Rijeka City Administration’s Department of Education and Schooling will enable fee-free ice skating and skate rental for the pupils of all of Rijeka’s schools.

As in previous years, all the children from Rijeka will get the chance to take free ice skating lessons during the winter break, which are organised by the Rijeka Youth Home, and detailed information on how to apply will be made available online on the Youth Home website (www.dom-mladih.hr).

The opening hours of the ice skating rink for schoolchildren from Rijeka will be on weekdays from 8 am to 4 pm. It will be open to the public from 4 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 10 pm at weekends. The ice skating rink closes earlier on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. One hour of skating costs 20 HRK, while the rental of ice skates costs 10 HRK.

The Sea Snowflake will remain open until 15 January 2022. This year, the ice skating rink is supported by INA, along with the City of Rijeka.

One of the programmes accompanying the ice skating rink, to which our youngest visitors particularly look forward, is the arrival of St. Nicholas on Monday, 6 December, at 6 pm, complemented by a special programme and the distribution of presents.
