President of the Tourist Board of Rijeka
According to the provisions of the Law and the Statute, the position of President of the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka is held by M.Sc. Vojko Obersnel.
The President represents the Community, convenes and presides over the sessions of the Assembly and the Tourist Council, organizes, coordinates and harmonizes the work and activities of the Community in accordance with the Law, the Statute and the work program of the Community, takes care of the lawful and timely execution of the tasks of the Community, together with the director of the Tourist Office, prepares the session of the Tourist of the Council and the Assembly, initiates and takes care of the cooperation of the Community with other tourist communities and other bodies of mutual interest, signs decisions and other acts passed by the Assembly and the Tourist Council, and performs other tasks determined by the acts of the Community bodies.
Assembly of the Rijeka Tourist Board
The highest body of the Rijeka Tourist Board is the Assembly, which also manages it.
The Assembly of the Community consists of representatives of natural and legal persons, members of the Community, from the area of the city, in proportion to the share of an individual member in the income of the Community, grouped into two groups of activity groups – the tourism group of activities and the group of tourism-related activities. Within the groups there are groups of activities determined according to the prescribed classification of activities. The number of representatives in the Assembly of the Community is limited to 22, whereby the tourism group of activities has 9 representatives, and the group of tourism-related activities has 13 representatives.
The number of representatives within each activity group in the Community Assembly is determined by the Tourism Council of the Community when making the decision to call for elections, in proportion to the share of the activity group in the Community’s income within the described activity group, in such a way that each group is represented by the members with the highest share of income within the group. The share of the group is the sum of the shares of the members of the group.
The membership fee and 25% of the tourist tax, paid by that member to the Community, are counted as a share of the Community’s income, and those payments refer to obligations in the year preceding the year in which the elections for the Community Assembly are held, with the fact that one member can have a maximum 40% of representatives in the Assembly.
The Assembly of the Community adopts the Statute of the Community, decisions on the establishment and structure, rights and duties and the way of doing business, decides on the election and dismissal of the members of the Tourist Council, adopts the annual work program of the Community and the report on the execution of the work program, adopts the Rules of Procedure of the Assembly, supervises material and financial operations and disposal of Community funds, supervises the execution and implementation of the Community’s work program, performs other tasks determined by the Law and the Community Statute.

Tourist Council of the Tourist Board of the City of Rijeka
The Tourist Council is the executive body of the Community Assembly, and has a president and eight members. The president of the Tourist Board of Rijeka Gradaka is also the president of the Tourist Council. The members of the Tourist Council are elected by the Assembly from among the members of the Community, taking care that the majority of the members of the Tourist Council are from among the members of the Community who perform catering activities or provide services in tourism. The Tourist Council is responsible to the Community Assembly.
The Tourist Council implements the decisions and conclusions of the Assembly, proposes to the Assembly the annual work program of the Community and the report on the implementation of the work program, submits a report on its work to the Community Assembly, manages the assets of the Community, passes general acts for the work and activities of the professional service of the Community, appoints and dismisses the director of the Tourist Office , determines the limits of authority for the representations of the Community and the disposal of financial resources of the Community, adopts the Rules of Procedure for its work, determines the proposal of the Statute and the proposal for amendments to the Statute, prepares proposals and gives opinions on issues decided by the Assembly, decides on the use of funds for the construction, adaptation and procurement of business area in accordance with the work program, passes general acts that are not passed by the Assembly of the Community, requests and considers the director’s report on his work and obligatorily makes a decision on the acceptance or non-acceptance of the said report, encourages cooperation with other tourist communities and other legal and natural persons who are directly o or indirectly involved in tourist traffic, performs other tasks established by law or other regulation.
