Principij Gallery

The Principij Gallery is located in the centre of Rijeka, in the immediate vicinity of St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Gate and the City clock tower. It is situated at the site of a former Roman military camp, the Tarsatica Principium. When you make a turn beneath the clock tower and pass through the newly renovated Kobler Square, you will see the Old Gate and when look through them you will read the sign Principij Gallery. Which means that you’re in downtown Rijeka. This is the first and only gallery in Rijeka that specialises in photographs. It is equipped with state-of-the-art LED lighting. Its premises also contain a portion of the museum’s photographic equipment collection as well as a library of photographic magazines and other publications.
