DESCRIPTION:As part of the ongoing exhibition program by Drugo more at Galerija Filodrammatica (Korzo 28/1\, Rijeka)\, digital artist Dasha Ilina will present her solo exhibition Hi NSA\, and welcome to my crib to the Rijeka audience from May 8 to 29.\nDasha Ilina is a Russian techno-critical artist based in Paris\, France. Through the employment of low-tech and DIY approaches\, her work questions the desire to incorporate modern technology into our daily lives by highlighting the implications of actually doing so. \nInspired by the famous 2000s MTV show “Cribs\,” the exhibition takes its title from the line that virtually every celebrity on the show said when welcoming the MTV camera crew into their lavish homes – “Hi MTV\, and welcome to my crib.” The TV crew here is replaced by the omnipresent technologies of surveillance capitalism\, and therefore tactically renamed for the digital age: “Hi NSA\, and welcome to my crib\,” also a nod to the widespread meme of having a personal government agent spying on you.On Thursday\, May 8 at 7 PM\, the artist will give a talk about her artistic practice titled ‘Inside the Infinite Office’\, followed by the exhibition opening at 8 PM. After the opening\, the exhibition can be visited during regular gallery hours: Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM and from 5 PM to 8 PM\, and on Saturdays from 5 PM to 8 PM. Admission is free

DESCRIPTION:This year\, the “Night of Fortresses” event highlights sustainability with its new slogan: “Night of Fortresses Goes Green”. \nWhat do we want? To use the event as a tool to raise public and visitor awareness about green and sustainable development. \nOver the last three years\, the “Night of Fortresses” event has connected more than 50 sites in 8 countries and 40 cities\, including coastal and inland fortresses\, castles\, museums\, galleries\, and fortified towns\, promoting them as tourist attractions. This success showed the potential for stronger cooperation in the development of sustainable cultural tourism. \nThe idea is simple: connect cultural heritage with ecological responsibility! The goal is to raise visitor awareness about sustainable tourism and practices and to encourage active participation in environmental protection. Through “Night of Fortresses Goes Green\,” we are not only celebrating cultural heritage but also contributing to the protection of our planet – step by step\, event by event. \nProgram 2025 \n5:00 PM – Workshop “Be as Healthy as a Frankopan Lion”\nA sensory workshop where visitors create fragrant “health sachets” – practical containers for medicinal and aromatic herbs\, using recycled Tetra Pak packaging. In addition to creatively shaping the sachets\, participants select dried herbs of their choice and craft personalized herbal blends. The workshop encourages a connection with nature through the senses\, promotes recycling\, and brings herbs back into everyday life. \n7:00 PM to 10:00 PM – Music Program with Trio Asi\nWith this local trio\, visitors at the Trsat Castle can enjoy the sounds of authentic music.

DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, May 15 in the large hall of Filodrammatica (Korzo 28/1\, Rijeka)\, Canadian musician Jeremy Young will present an experimental music performance titled new sketches for magnetic tape & sine waves\, starting at 8 PM.\nJeremy Young is a maker of analog concrète electronic tape music from Tiohtià:ke/Montréal\, Quebec\, Canada. He is a member of the experimental poetry_sound unit Cloud Circuit\, alongside writer Deanna Radford\, and the electroacoustic modern classical trio Sontag Shogun\, with pianist Ian Temple and sound/voice artist Jesse Perlstein\, as well as other projects.\nMaking use of a sine and square wave oscillator system\, 1/4″ magnetic tape loops\, filtered radio and EMF signal\, and foley-inspired sound treatments from amplified surfaces and objects\, Young’s improvisational techniques are influenced by Cagean chance as well as haptics-based praxis and deep listening. His unique\, grid-less approach is anchored by combining the physical treatment of audio signal with complex musical content to create sonic narratives imprinted by the media on which they are recorded\, edited\, and played back.\nHere in Rijeka\, Young will perform sketches for tape and oscillators extrapolating the material on his new record\, ‘Cablcar’ (2025\, Halocline Trance).
