SUMMARY:Petra Mrša: Games we follow\, games we create
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition Games We Follow\, Games We Create brings together a selection of artistic works created from 2011 to the present\, in which the author explores the human inclination towards play and imagination\, relying on the potential of games to provide a new experience of reality. \nBy generating new experiences for participants\, herself\, or the audience\, through asking questions\, performativity\, taking on roles\, or occupying space\, Petra Mrša encourages imagining a world in which we want to live and bringing that world to life through play. She also challenges dominant narratives shaping our everyday lives\, questioning their intentions\, causes\, and patterns. By challenging prevailing knowledge\, the author operates on the assumption that new experiences allow for a new relationship with the familiar. \nOrganized by Drugo more\, the exhibition will open at the Filodrammatica Gallery (Korzo 28/1\, Rijeka) on Thursday\, January 18th at 7 p.m. \n

SUMMARY:Srećko Horvat: After the Apocalypse: Melancholia is a Luxury!
DESCRIPTION:In the framework of the Refleks program by Drugo more association\, philosopher Srećko Horvat will give a lecture on Friday\, February 9\, at 7 p.m. in the large hall of Filodrammatica (Korzo 28/1\, Rijeka) titled “After the Apocalypse: Melancholia is a Luxury!” Admission is free.\nRecently\, there was news that a startup from Greenland is starting to pack and send “Arctic ice” from thawed glaciers to be used in cocktail bars in Dubai\, purportedly contributing to the “green transition.” Instead of a fundamental change of the system leading to the climate crisis and war\, we find ourselves again in a “transition.” Widespread war\, the climate crisis\, nuclear threat\, microplastics\, and daily violence make it challenging to find news that is not apocalyptic. However\, what if our reality is already post-apocalyptic? What if we don’t understand “apocalypse” literally as the “end of the world” but as a “revelation”: what is the current apocalypse revealing? The lecture will explore our contemporary post-apocalyptic Zeitgeist\, various reactions to the end (denial\, melancholy\, depression)\, concepts such as “supraliminal\,” “apocalyptic blindness\,” commodification\, and fetishism of the Apocalypse.

SUMMARY:Izložba iz zbirke MMSU - "Gdje je ženi mjesto?"
DESCRIPTION:GDJE JE ŽENI MJESTO?

SUMMARY:Silvio Vujičić: Fountains
DESCRIPTION:Visual artist Silvio Vujičić will present his exhibition Fountains at the Filodrammatica Gallery (Korzo 28/1\, Rijeka)\, opening on Thursday\, February 29\, at 6 p.m.\nIn this exhibition\, Silvio Vujičić explores the symbolism of processes through two key artistic devices: the Unstable Fountain and the Stable Fountain. Through chemical processes\, artistic works become portals of change\, challenging the viewer’s perception. Fountains placed in a contemporary context prompt reflection on global themes such as dystopia\, life\, and destruction.\nThe exhibition is not only a homage to Hieronymus Bosch but also a subtle critique of contemporary society\, inviting viewers to explore their own destinies within the process of transformation.
